Navigation redesign - UX optimization

What
As part of a cross-functional team, I redesigned the website’s navigation to improve clarity, usability, and mobile performance. Key updates included simplifying menu structure, removing visual clutter, and introducing a “Features” section. The mobile version was rebuilt with a full-screen sliding menu and dropdowns for clear, intuitive browsing. We also refreshed the UI for a more modern, consistent look.
Why
The previous menu caused frustration: poor hierarchy, broken dropdowns, and mobile issues made navigation confusing. Research and analytics confirmed users struggled to find key content. For a digital-first company, this hurt both usability and brand credibility. A redesign was also needed to support marketing goals and reduce bounce rates.
How
I led user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis to identify pain points. After prototyping several layout and interaction options in Figma, I iterated based on team feedback and user tests. I collaborated closely with developers to ensure high-fidelity handoff and QA. The final solution was validated through further testing and post-launch monitoring.
Interface & Design Overview
The redesigned Masterplan pages embrace a fresh, minimalist aesthetic while maintaining consistency with the brand’s identity. The interface balances simplicity with engaging visual elements to enhance user experience.

Prototype
The high-fidelity mobile prototype played a crucial role in both expert evaluations and user testing. Since mobile navigation had the most critical usability issues, the prototype helped assess improvements before implementation. Through usability tests, we identified friction points and iterated based on real user feedback. Expert reviews from the team further ensured design consistency and feasibility. This iterative process allowed me to refine interactions, improve clarity, and enhance the overall user experience.

Component Library
Components are an integral part of the design. Their precise execution is time-consuming, but invaluable in later stages of project customization. A design system and its components are crucial for the future, as they make implementing changes easier, less time-consuming, and ensure brand consistency.
